Response to a Peer’s Draft

Essay Instructions:

Good morning. I wanted to clarify the process of peer review for the argument portfolio. You are writing drafts of three short, related arguments for this project. You will receive two reviews for this work:

Peer Review: in class only on days the drafts are due. Each day will focus on a different aspect of writing. Our first review focuses on claims and evidence. Place your notes on the provided worksheet each day in the folder for that review day to get exercise credit for the work and be sure to email your peer with the feedback. Please make every effort to be in class next week for our remaining two reviews and to bring a draft ready for review each day. Anyone who attends class but does not receive a draft from a peer may apply the workshop prompts to their own paper for credit.

Instructor Feedback: you may place drafts in the Drafts of Short Arguments 1, 2, 3 for Instructor Review folder as we go, but have all in the folder so that I can return feedback in a timely manner relative to the final due date.

Submission Feedback

Overall Feedback

You have a good start here. This was an argument other students found really interesting and there are so many opinions. Be sure to continue to develop these as pieces that have their own sources and calls to action. Will you write each segment as argument 1, 2, and 3? Hand in whatever portion fits for argument 1 next week and we can review from there. Good ideas!

This is the feedback from my professor, Please read it through thank you

The reader might use it to anticipate the paper's central portion, in which the draft seeks to persuade student-athletes that they should be paid for their hard work and devotion to their schools and teams.

The draft's body will determine how effectively this case works, and the introduction gives a good background. Still, the body should go into more detail about each reason, using supporting evidence and real-life examples and answering any possible counterarguments. This addition is necessary to keep the reader's attention and persuade them. For instance, if the essay is about the need for respect, it could include data or case studies that show how student players help their schools and sports teams do well. Real-life stories of student-athletes who had trouble with money and how it affected their schoolwork and sports performance can be used to support the case for financial security, and it would also help the argument if you addressed counterarguments, like the possible problems with
