Reading Response to Cathedral
Different authors have different ways of communicating subtle messages through their literary works. In reading Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the various perspectives of life are brought into focus. The works compare a man who can see to that of Robert,a blind man. There seems to be a very positive and hence enthusiastic approach to life by the blind man who cannot even see, compared to the man with normal eyesight. It is even quite ironical for this to be the case, considering that there is more being seen by the man with normal eyesight compared to what can be felt or perceived by the blind one.
There is also the third perspective towards life, provided through the lens of the persona. The persona, even though unnamed, seems to be a married...
