In an ironic turn of events, now that he is home, it may be argued that Odysseus has indeed become “Nobody.” In what ways is this true?

Odyssey Became Nobody
Odysseus’ “Nobody” tactic he used when he and his crew was escaping Polyphemus was a clever one. Despite this ingenious plan, his arrogant actions in the end led him to be delayed in his journey back home. When he returned after twenty long years, he had gone through so much before he got back to Penelope, and ironically even became a nobody for some time.
Odysseus set to journey back to Ithaca after the Trojan war. In his heroic journey, he went to many placed and encountered many beings that tested his mettle and his character as a hero. When Odysseus escaped Polyphemus, out of arrogance and a desire for glory, he revealed that he is not Nobody, but Odysseus (Homer 9.560).
