Technology makes life safer, easier, enjoyable, and more convenient. Currently, numerous gadgets are available for use by individuals, such as smartphones, computers, tablets, and calculators. That is why people do not need to memorize multiplication tables since they can reach out their calculators or smartphones in their pockets when they need to do calculations. The adoption of technological devices has made life effective and efficient. In particular, individuals have become more dependent on technology.
Technology is significant in people’s lives, and electronic devices have become ubiquitous. Today, individuals have multiple gadgets, including tablets, smartphones, laptops, and play stations, which they use in their everyday lives. Based on a recent report by Penn State, around 77% of people over-rely on technology to undertake different tasks in their lives (University of the People). For example, individuals rely on technology to perform business transactions online, traveling, entertainment, education, medicine, and other multiple fields. In addition, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has revolutionized the transport sector since individuals can go to almost any place they want by following the directions or routes from Google Maps (Wu et al. 1220). People cannot live without technology since they have become over-dependent on it, especially when it comes to the accomplishment of their daily duties.
Many individuals no longer have control over the electronic devices they want (Bhagat and Sharma 70). They have increasingly immersed themselves in the digital world such that any gadget appears to be important. For instance, an ordinary person aged 18 years and above owns about three devices, including a smartphone, laptop, and play station. When the individual is at school, one uses a laptop and smartphone to access course materials. Besides, the person can use a laptop, smartphone, or play station to play games on the Internet while relaxing.
