Film Review Analysis
The film review of the movie, "Pariah," has been done by Ina Diane Archer. The critical elements of the film review are sexuality, culture, identity, and the contemporary nature of films depicting African-American teenagers, especially women. The discussion revolves around the manifestation of "the transformative experiences of adolescent African-American women." Another critical element of the review is the difficulty that teenagers and even older people in the African culture face in their coming-out process. Archer’s overall evaluation of the film is the explanation of how the theme of change is necessary and inevitable in any society. In this context, the transformation is evident in the sense that although the society is against sexual interaction s between people of the same gender, African-American communities ought to understand the sexuality of their children
