The bookYear of yes: How to dance it out, stand in the sun and be your own person was published in 2015 by Simon and Schuster in London and New York. In the conversational style book, the author highlights how she was able to overcome some of her fears when she learned to say yes. Shonda Rhimes confessed that she was so used to saying no that even when there were opportunities to meet fellow creative people she refused attending meetings and parties. This is partly because Rhimes is shy and introverted, but still she realized that she needed to change to be more successful. “My father told me “the only limit to your success is your own imagination” (Rhimes 302). To the readers, making a conscious decision to change and voice their opinions helps to let other people to know about their thoughts and opinions.

Even when one makes mistakes and missteps one should not dwell on them, as they fail to see the positive side of how not to do things and fail to move forward.
