He uses a first person narration although he sometimes switches to the second person for some philosophical reflections. The narrative structure enables the reader to capture the plot setting of the story. By indicating the participation in World War 1 the reader are able to have understand the story even more (Hemingway 2). The author uses the relationship between Henry and Catherine as the rising action.
