China has been a global leader and innovator in many fields for a long time. For example, the growth of intellectual activities and introduction of writing and calendars was independent of western influence unlike most places. There were many innovations in ancient China, ranging from political, social, economical and agricultural.
The Han dynasty reigned over China for more than four hundred years and came after the collapse of the famous Qin Empire (Coffin, Judith G., and Lerner 75). The Han dynasty introduced many of the modern concepts by adopting Confucius principles that had been rejected by the previous regimes. It also established a ruling class that was maintained through intermarriages between the high classes in the society. In addition, all peripheral areas that were conquered were allowed to remain autonomous, provided the recognized Chinese rule (Stacey, Robert, Meacham, and Lerner 49). In addition, this dynasty introduced international trading routes that enabled China to export her products, such as silk, to the outside world.
