The 7th amendment to the constitution of the United States says that civil cases based on disagreements between businesses or people have a right to be heard by a jury in a federal court. However, the amount of the lawsuit must be more than $20 and after the court decides on the case, it should not go back to trial again. Nevertheless, when the 7th amendment was approved in December 1791, $20 was a huge amount of money. Today, federal courts will not hear any lawsuit if it less than $75, 000.
