The Acropolis
Located 150m above the sea level, Acropolis is the prime part of Athens city. The skills of arts and creativity have flourished in the region since the ancient times. The erection of Temple in the region had a symbolic and economic objective. The Temple was spiritually used to glorify the gods and the city and later used in intimidating the expansion of aristocratic cults that was flourishing in the city. In pessimistic perception, the temple would enhance the collection and circulation of money that would otherwise be accumulated in the coffers of concerned divinities.
The Acropolis communally gives a flat-topped rock representation from the Neolithic era. The Mycenaean population had a large settlement scheme in the region. The splendid rock of Acropolis provides the Athens community with a capacious citadel. The nucleus of the largest Greek Town sprang up towards the northward side of the rock.
Ascending and obtaining political powers was not an easy ride. The powers were vested in the hands of a landowning aristocracy. The bigwigs were referred to as High born or Eupatrids. Three Archons were yearly chosen to undertake the responsibilities of executive officials like civil administration duties. The executive officials were in charge of religion and even war.
