In this situation in which I consider a patient unsafe to be discharged, it is important to follow the right guidelines. First when disagreeing with the care plan offered a nurse must get more knowledge on the concerns and specific issues raised. Visionary Leadership (RNAO) states that registered nurses are critical health team members, therefore should act by demonstrating good leadership and assessing the situation at hand. Canadian Nurses Association (2011) adds that evidence-informed decision-making using practice guidelines, protocols, and resources supports inter-professional collaboration. This explains why health professionals must work together to achieve success.
