The chosen article is entitled "Saya: Big Ambitions for a Japanese Digital Daughter" from BBC World News. Saya is a Japanese ‘digital daughter’ created by Tokyo computer lab. The team behind Saya is a couple that gave up their day jobs and started to live off from their savings to focus on developing Saya.
My reaction to the story is that I think that Mr. and Mrs. Ishikawa’s idea of creating an ideal Japanese girl will set a good example to society. Saya is programmed to be a good student with morals and ethics just like how a proper woman should be. Even if the couple is still at the process of fully developing Saya, there is a bright future for what they are creating.
