Theatre of the oppressed was created by Augusto Boal, a Brazilian theatre director, during the 1950s and 60s. He revolutionized various forms of theatre performances to fit the audience's needs for critical thinking, interaction, dialogue action, and fun (5). Theatre performances have since undergone an evolution, and better work is currently witnessed. Fraser (102) says that theatre performances reflect what is happening in the real world. It, therefore, means that it maps an institution that it represents.
