How does BioArt, as Mitchel describes it, relate to any of the other periods or examples we have previously discussed in the course? For instance, how might an artist like Steichen or Kac be compared to a Dutch still life painter we discussed in class? Cite the Mitchell text
The Dutch still life paintings of the 17th century inspired other artists in northern Europe and is linked to bioart where the paintings show different aspects of nature and unify landscapes. Bioart is artistic practice that brings together art and science in the creation of works of art including the link between the problematic of biotechnology and the works of art (Mitchell 35). To the author, the experimental condition of life and science created problems where arts intervenes in the problems of biotechnology. The aesthetics of bioart painting that highlight scenes that are based on nature although having being manipulated.
