The Entrepreneurial Revolution - Summary
Through the decades the definition of entrepreneur changes. It started in where Cantillion presented the idea of an entrepreneur that came from the word ‘entreprende’ which means the ability to change. Many years later numerous authors attribute to the meaning of entrepreneurship, today the latest contribution to the concept of entrepreneurship is the sense of alertness and the ability to spot opportunities and execute them accordingly.
Entrepreneurs see opportunity in everyday life as a way of earning profit. They are also known for being risk-takers investing in uncertain things. A business has only two basic functions bases on Drucker's view (1) Marketing and Innovation and Marketing and Innovation produce the result and the rest are all costs. Entrepreneurs are not measured by how big the organization they work with but by their skills and their ability to adapt to their environment.
