Overview: In this project, you will perform an informal diversity audit. Through an investigation of 2 organizations, you will compare the similarities and differences of their diversity strategies, and then offer recommendations for the organizations to improve.

The report should provide an analysis of the way diversity operates at the chosen organizations, comparing and contrasting the organizations on as many dimensions as possible. The company’s mission is to help its clients create a future for themselves. Its vision is to grow as a leading global organization that brings innovation to the world, contributing to improving people’s professional and personal lives.
The target market for Accenture includes top-of-line business and IT firms and executives from the corporate world looking for business consultation and technology services. The company provides technical, operational, security, analytical, digital, and management support services to other businesses (Accenture). The clients of Accenture are globally dispersed across 120 countries from different industries.
The policies and procedures regarding equality and diversity initiatives
Below are the diversity policies of Accenture
* The company is committed to equal pay for equal work through its 100% pay equity policy which offers equal pay for the same position across the globe to every individual regardless of gender, race, and ethnicity (Accenture).
* The global IT giant focuses on achieving a gender-balanced workplace by 2025, accounting for 46% (Accenture).
* The company developed a Disability Champion network providing training to people with disability to work freely and confidently, providing access to the latest technology.
* The company policy to support the LGBTQ community promotes an environment regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation.
* Ethnic and racial diversity in the workplace ensures the inclusion of people from different cultural backgrounds.

Microsoft is an American tech giant that manufactures computers, server software, electronic gadgets, and operating systems. The target market of the multinational corporation is individuals and businesses. People aged 16 above are the direct target market of Microsoft, including students, tech users, employees, business firms, professionals, and entrepreneurs. The company strives for its mission to provide empowerment to every single individual and business, driving them towards more incredible achievements (Microsoft, 2022). In contrast, the company’s vision is to provide support to individuals and corporations across the world so that they can realize their utmost potential.
The policies and procedures regarding equality and diversity initiatives
Microsoft has developed its first Diversity and Inclusion Report in 2019 after much criticism for its lack of diversity in the workplace. The report included several initiatives and planned for its diversity efforts (Lawless).

Analysis of Similarities and Differences
The analysis of Accenture and Microsoft shows that Accenture has developed and followed the best diversity and inclusion policies. The company is leading in promoting equality and a multicultural environment in the workplace. Both the companies have more Asian employees. Microsoft represents 35.4% of the Asian workforce (Microsoft Global Diversity & Inclusion Report 6), whereas 27.8% of employees at Accenture belong to Asian ethnicity (Accenture). Microsoft has no significant representation from the disabled community but has plans to train and hire disabled individuals.
On the other hand, 4.5% of the total global workforce comprises disabled people, and Accenture provides appropriate training and career opportunities to disabled persons. The LGBT community represents 2.5% of Accenture’s workforce (Accenture), but Microsoft has no documented representation of people from the LGBT community. However, the policy has encouraged people to disclose their gender identity and disabilities. But there is no accurate data available. Microsoft has also introduced its plans to consider hiring veterans, LGBT, and the disabled due to the increasing number of applications received by the company from these communities (Microsoft Global Diversity & Inclusion Report 17), which shows that the company has not achieved diversity and inclusion in its global workforce.

The ethnic minorities are pretty low in number, and Microsoft has no significant representation from the disabled, veteran, and LGBT community.
