Business in the world has taking certain goals and most of individuals have invested in business to a position of coming up with their own companies. The big challenge is that not even those who are starting their own companies can differentiate between for profit and non-profit companies. Both profit and non-profit has organizations but on the other hand they have differences on their way of doing the business just like the way the name differ. This paper seeks to look at the meaning of the terms, way of doing daily routine, as well analyzing their CSR that they present to the public.
Though profit and non profit business sounds to be different, they share so many things in common. Both are believed to be generally companies in which assets are held as well business transacted in the name of corporation and not those of individuals. For these companies to do well, they both need to engender and bring in most revenue than they spend on operations. The fact is that both companies are involved in generating a good or service for the society. In other case, whether a company is for profit or not for profit, it is believed that the employers don`t receive their wages by corporation. This should not confuse someone id deciding that the not for profit corporation do not pay the workers.
Before we come up with a for profit company, it is good we have a look at the differences shared by both for profit and not for profit business. The fundamental difference is that both have to generate a profit for the up keeping of the organization. They have to generate money so that they are in a position to settle bills as well if a corporation want to acquire new assts then they are in a position to do so. It is not a smooth for both since incase the non-profit, they depend on contributions from well wishers and in some cases, and people may become reluctant in contributing which holds back the development of the corporation .
It is believed that the profit gained in both parties is re-invested in the organization but this is limited by the laws and they come up with ways on how much non-profit are allowed re-investing. In this case the profit is used to replace for example worn out assets and not like for profit organization where extra profit is distributed to the owner as cash, this making it the basic difference between for profit and non-profit organization.
Ownership of the organization is another difference between for profit and non-profit organization. In case of for profit corporation, it is believed that investors get together and transfer funds, assets and sometime one come up with his/her talent and from there they decide to come up with a corporations. In such situation the corporations is registered and from there they start benefiting from shares regardless of one contribution. On the other hand, non-profit corporation, it is individuals who come up with together and they provide assets, but the problem here is that they don`t have the regal ownership of the corporative nor do they know where the up keeping of the company will be coming from.
After having a look at differences between the two parties, it is well explained the nature of the two and one can be in a position to differentiate between for profit and non-profit corporation. In other words for profit business, all what they are focused on is how to make money and not only money but big profit so that they can have good shares divided among them. When it comes to non-profit corporation, they are believed to be charity while others can also from group of people having a main goal that they are willing to achieve.
There are numerous for Profit Corporations but before coming up with a specific one, we lets have the meaning of for Profit Corporation though we had mentioned it before. When it comes to for a profit corporation, this is an organization or a corporation which operate business with an aim of gaining profit in return or else the entity formed and managed with the intention of earning a profit.

General Electric Company is believed to be an American multinational corporation which is incorporated in Schenectady and has its headquarters in Fairfield and New York as well. The company is believed to operate in four segments which include Technology, Capital Finance Consumer, and Energy among others.
When we ask what is done by Generic Electric Company, it is believed that it is a branch out since the products and services provided are numerous as they range from engine, power generation, medical images among others and this make the company to be unique in the field of for Profit Corporation. The range of goods and services provided by Generic Company are countless since the company has provided almost everything that comes on with technology. Due to its wide rage of production of goods, the profit attained from this makes it possible for the company to sustain the daily responsibilities and not like non-profit corporation which only depends on charities.
When it comes to CSR this becomes the most debated topic in today`s business environment since companies believe that it improves the operational efficiencies ensuring in win-win model while on the other hand the critics feel that implementation of CSR is against the general interests of the share holders and that as a company, the main objective is to enhance shareholders wealth.. However, there are companies which believe that while they incorporate CSR, there is still chance to achieve the goals simultaneously with increasing shareholders wealth.
General mills, Health, community and environmental initiatives are among the charities that have benefited from General Electric. A good example in the philanthropic were more than $100 million were given to charitable causes in fiscal year of 2010 and this gives it history while it comes to contribution to charities and these becomes a good indication that General Electric cooperates with non-profit corporation even if on it`s own it`s a for profit corporative.
The General mills have not only been helping the charities in a single part but they have extended and increase their corporate contribution. For example they are believed to have increased their donation by 10%. For instance, it is believed that in the year 2010, General mills expanded it`s way of contribution around the globe that is international contribution by 50% while other companies has their focus on Africa to help women and girls fight poverty in Malawi and not only in food crises but also they are even ready to sell 40% of it`s global production for charity purpose.
