The two pieces utilize science as a significant tool that examines the behavior and genetic composition of human beings. The application of science in both pieces does not just relate to their content, but also to the contributors of the content. “Homo Sapiens 1900” draws a lot of ideas from Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Interestingly, much of the content in “The Mismeasure of Man” is from Francis Galton, who is Darwin’s cousin. Galton argues that any scientific study must be based on numbers.
