The Double Portrait, a collection of sculptures and amazing drawings, combines Charley Friedman’s work with that of Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez. The painting features an egg-garden wall, a large flower painting that excites the viewers. The couple who are both artists does work that initially appears entirely different, but their combination shows similarities in the message. The couple uses the painting to create a peculiar experience, employing abstract symbolism. Charley embraces a humorous, performative and self-reflective characteristic to explore identity and create an environment that brings in the participation of the audience. Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez employs a storytelling framework for her elaborate drawings and paintings that poetically symbolize expressions of humanity politically and in matters of migration. Through their art callable, the couple can touch on issues of identity that mainly concern the entire society.
