Art Criticism Exercise
The piece of painting I choose for this assignment is the “Breaking Home Ties” painting. Norman Rockwell painted the “Breaking Home Ties” painting in the year 1954. The central theme in this painting is education as we see a father probably giving his son some pep talk before the son goes to school. The painter uses oil on canvas to depict a picture of a proud father whose son is about to go to State University.
This piece of art is very inspiring and beautiful at the same time. When I look at it, it makes me remember how my father used to escort me to school. I enjoy this painting because it reminds me of a situation that I have gone through myself.
