Discuss the major factors that contribute to energy insecurity. What suggestions do you recommend to counter the challenges?
Environmental factors contribute to energy insecurity through protests about environmental change that are caused by domestic source exploitation (Collins, 2016, 345). Also, exploiting of difficult areas and those that are sensitive environmentally in countries with few energy sources causes energy insecurity. These countries have fragile ecosystems, and the need to find new energy sources, which exposes the environment to risk factors than the need to protect it. Economic costs also influence energy security through imported fuels. Imported fuel is always expensive, and those countries that import this fuel set the prices high, leaving importing countries at risk (Collins, 2016, 345).
