As highlighted, for every part that falls short of the quality standard, then CT Automotive is fined £250. The more parts that the customers receive, the higher the fines accrue. The following are ideas on how to improve quality management:
1 Establish quality control checks within the UK- The company should consider establishing quality control centers in the UK to confirm the quality control services given in China. As it stands, there are already instances of low-quality parts, and a continued occurrence of this could lead to heavier fines and the company losing credibility and reliability.
2 Proper training of management and staff – the company should adopt mechanisms to ensure that staff are properly trained on quality management. To achieve this, CT Automotive should implement a quality control policy over and above the national policy.
3 Hold unscheduled quality tests – it has been proven that holding impromptu quality control checks ensures that staff are always alert and keen on ensuring all parts are up to the institutional and national quality control policies.
