I have jaunted across most of the world from China, Thailand to Spain England and Italy. These places have distinctly striking appeals and allure about them in their geographical features and cultures. For example, the Eye of London and its courteous people, Paella festival and bullfighting culture in Spain, Italy for its cuisines, wines, and opera music and Thailand for its renowned antique shrines and sub-tropical climate. However, of all places I have been to, nothing beats the exquisite, beguiling, but concurrently punishing environment, geography, and cultures of the people of Ireland. Even having lived and brought up in Poland for 20 years, it irresistibly took me a short time to fall intimate with Ireland, which has now become my residence for the last 9 years.
The first time I landed in Ireland I was smitten by the great expanse of beauty in its geographical features from the stunningly beautiful green landscape of the Emerald Isle in the countryside to the Iveragh Peninsula of the Ring of Kerry found in Lake Killarny in Killarny National park that has clear blue waters and sandy beaches. Whenever you feel the urge to take off a load, a stroll across these places or activities such as cycling, driving or golfing should surely relieve your mind. The pulchritude of the three Islands of Aran has inspired legendary and fabled poems from artists such as the celebrated Liam O’Flaherty and Seán Keating (Arnold, 2007, p. 68).
