On the other hand, the tourism industry is believed to have gained the attention of various economies in the globe in the 1970s. The attention was brought about by the need from the public to recognize the significance of events to societies, environmental regeneration and economies (Popescu, & CorboÅŸ, 2012).

The event industry is one of the most popular industries in this contemporary world. From the past, people have been coming up with different ways to mark significant events. Besides, from one year to another, events evolve due to change in cultural practices. According to Hoffman & Ocasio (2001) there are historical records that indicate the existence of events before the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. This denotes that the event industry existed before the 21st century
There are various categories of events; they range from personal events to public events. An instance of a personal event is a birthday and an example of public events is summer festivals. All this events are essentially in particular ways. A birth day party makes one recognize the day he or she was born and thank his or her parent for giving birth to him or her. On the other hand, big summer festivals reunite people and hence enhance harmony (Stone, & Millan, 2011).
The 21st century is termed by scholars as the century of globalization or information technology. Some of the events that used to occur in the past which differ from the 21st events comprise of rain dances and traditional ceremonies. Then again, as human beings keep on developing events also develop.
There has been a noticeable increase in the event industry as well as event tourism. For instance, events have increased from 200 persons to millions of people. The outcome of this is the rise of proficient events. With the development of the industry communities with innovative events have entered the market which provides opportunities to a significant amount of individuals.
