Among the needed devices include a router device that will enable to create a network and share data between devices. To have the home network complete there is also the need of devices that will connect with the network and the internet connection to get online. In the tutorial it explains the steps to follow on installing the home network the first thing one needs is to get an internet connection to his or her home then one has to get a device that will enable create network inside the house to enable the sharing of data within the house devices. In order to create a network and share data there needs to be a router and the commonly used is the Cisco router. In order to create a hand wired connection there need to be some cables and the Ethernet cables are used with all these there will be need to have the devices connected to the network like a desktop or a laptop that requires a wired connection (Butterscotch.com, 2010) . The tutorial also teaches on the setting up of wireless home network router in case where one has the high speed internet its probable that the network is directly connected to the primary computer. One checks at the ports on the back of the router and there is a port labeled internet or WAN, the next step is to disconnect the internet to the computer and connect to the internet port on the router. Additionally, the tutorial also teaches on how to keep the home network secure, there is also the use of power line networking this is an extra option to hard wired networks or the wireless network where one uses homes power lines to connect the devices as long as the devices are connected to a power line receiver (YouTube, 2009). From the power line connection it teaches that one cannot use the power line networking with power bars as this disrupts the signal and can send signal from one house to another. The tutorial does a great job on guiding one on the home networking process and how to network all the devices. One is able to make the home devices accessible to each other and this makes it easy to work since one can use just the computer to operate all the other devices in the home. It helps home owners to be able to handle the home internet devices easily without the need of a professional since the tutorial explains the steps precisely. It is useful to people who would like to access internet from their homes and also to the internet users since it teaches on the networking issues. Furthermore it is useful for those who have had their networks violated by other people to learn on how to protect their networks. How to safeguard the home network one needs to install the Linksys wireless guard client software one secures the wireless network through encrypting the network. One can encrypt the network with WEP, WPA or WPA2 there are codes that are used to encrypt ones network. If one does not have the codes it's impossible to access the network hence the network remains secure from other invaders.
