In my opinion, automation refers to processes or technologies that help people to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively with minimal contributions. In particular, in the digital era, individuals’ duties are supported by automation. For instance, cyber-physical systems (CPS) and the Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly improved the efficiency of healthcare patients’ records management. By using fog-assisted architecture, physicians no longer encounter the challenges of mobility, reliability, and scalability. That is the reason why they can monitor the health conditions of patients who are many miles away using smart e-health technologies (Rahmani et al., 2018).
