The second law of thermodynamics which is also the law of entropy relates to the natural flow of heat from a hotter to a colder system. Typically, when there is energy transfer energy dissipates in the form of heat, and entropy lead to disorder (Ben-Heim, 2010). The rock candy is formed through a process of crystallization, where molecular crystals are allowed to form larger crystals through heating and cooling. Where there is increase in temperatures, particles move faster, and this would increase solubility of sugar in water, like in the case of rock candy.
