1 There are several instances in the film that relates duties and loyalty as competing traits .The concept of identity and loyalty is clearly depicted in the film, this is since the identity aspect closely relates to the concept of loyalty. In this case, the revelation of who a character represents can clearly be revealed from what they pledge their loyalty towards. Okoye gives priority to her country first above herself, however, the loyalty was so much inclined to the throne which is basically used to describe her character arc. The loyalty was to the throne as a symbol and authority to the nation. Okoye represents the kind of character that while maintaining loyalty redefines the exact meaning of loyalty. While abandonment is not okay, however, at times we are forced to rethink the differentiating factor between things without loosing their connection. When two things come into conflict, she was forced to question the relating factor.
2 The legacy of ancestors attracted different reactions from both Killmonger and T’Challa. The two had completely different approach towards ancestral legacy which clearly reveals the aspects on racism, power struggles and inequality. In this case, Killmonger’s focus was global liberation especially of the black people, however, this was not truly his goal as revealed by his interactions with other characters.
