Globally, food enthusiasts, gastronomes, or gourmets, usually have a few things in common-to travel, explore the world, taste different cuisines, and learn their cultural intersections. Personally, a simple mention of Naples, Italy, often invokes nostalgic memories of my prior visit there and stimulates my taste-bud enzymes. Majorly, due to the Neapolitan pizza (pizza napoletana). Over time, I have eaten pizza at numerous locations but never encountered the Neapolitan replica. Emphasis on its unique taste will make you appreciate the art, mastery, and precision involved during its making and the cultural connotation the food carries in the region.
The Neapolitan pizza-making process has been passed down through generations primarily on limited crucial components, including flour, yeast, salt, and water. The Campania countryside traditionally supplies the raw ingredients used in making the cuisine. However, unlike other pizzas around the world, here, the magic is in the passion, heart, soul, and hands of the pizzaiolo (pizza chef).
