The first theory is the pluralistic approach. This method is based on the coachee’s goals to tailor the coaching process in order to achieve the desired results. This coachee-centered approach helped develop the field of coaching by adapting the methodology to suit the coachee’s wishes. The second theory is the skeptical perspective, which is relatively new to the field of coaching, and whose results are yet to be firmly established.
