The bio-psycho-social has a big impact in our life regardless of our ethnicity, gender, beliefs and our status in life. The profession of a social worker is to mind the gap between the vulnerable or oppressed.

Biological/Psychological/Social

I was born from a big family. The youngest of 8 children. Dad was in the army and was always away from home due to his deployment. Grandma was always there to helped an extra hand for my mother and siblings. By nature my family loves to eat. No matter how big or small the occasion was, mom and grandma always cook good food for us and to the extent our eating habit affect our health. I don’t know if my family has an eating disorder. We just love to eat. Food in my family is like a therapy.

More so, Diabetes runs in my family so I try to be active and practice a healthy lifestyle. According to my lab result last years my A1C is elevated. I used to go to the gym 4X a week however due to this pandemic I’m not as active as I used to be due to the closure of the gym. Although I still bike with our station bike at home. Personally, Self-care is very important especially I work full time and as a student in an online master’s program here at USC it can get too stressfull and at some point burnout. It’s good to set an appropriate boundaries so I’ll accomplish my dream to become a skilled social worker.

It was 9 years ago when mom’s gone. My heart was all in pieces, I miss her so much if I want to hug and kiss her all I do was cry. I miss her every day, I wish I can turn back the clock so I can make it all up the missing part that I feel what I did was not enough. During these sentiments influenced my decision to make a change on how to cope my feelings and emotions. My friends and family was my support system that gives me hope to continue to live. Similar to Canavan, Pinkerton, and Dolan (2000) Informal social support from family members and amongst friends can be seen as forming a central helping system. In the beginning it was difficult to manage the threshold of stress but I eventually overcame and dealt with life’s uncertainties.

CONCLUSION:

This is just a brief background of myself. Hope this helps. My grammar is bad that's why I'm asking help. Thank you.
