Human resource managers define social responsibility as the ethical behavior for organizations towards social, cultural, economic and environmental issues in the society in which they operate. Every entity has a duty to act in the benefit of the society. Organizations should not engage in activities that are harmful and unlawful. Instead they should pursue activities that have a positive impact on development. Since the organization operates in the community it should foster and cement good relationships with the members of the society (Quinn, 2012).
The national football league is a non-profit making organization with the aim of benefiting the society through various projects and creation of employment to people who have talent. The development of this organization is built on the fundamental principles of ethics. Ethical principles are fundamental standards and rules that guide the choice of what is right or wrong. They help in making decisions but also provide grounds on which decisions will be judged by others. The principles tend to explain how entities will respond to external and internal stimulus depending on the culture.
The following principles explain in-depth the importance of ethics in the national football league. To start with, Fair play: this refers to the conduct of individuals participating football activities. This principle advocates and upholds fairness and equity in managing various games. Football club should ensure that fair play is demonstrated and supported by all participants involved. In addition, the management must inform the participants of the consequences that will follow them if they do not play fairly. The standards for both behaviors must be applicable equally to all. Fair play is best demonstrated through the code of conduct. The national football club actively promotes and supports ethics in sports.
Secondly, Equity principle: Equity is the exercising of fairness, transparency and promoting social justice to ensure all individuals are respected and have equal opportunities irrespective of ones position in the organization, culture, disability or religion (Juan, 2013). Violation of individual rights is not allowed, it is for reasons for those associated with the sports to maintain, promote the principles of equity which are essential in participation and management of the sport activities. Again, promoting diversity and inclusion, the national football league recognizes the unique range of skills. Individual with the best talent are offered employment opportunities in the organization.
