The global carrying capacity can continue to increase for the following reasons. First, technological advancements have enabled human beings to create amenities to support the global carrying capacity. Take, for instance, the ability to build large modern buildings to house a large number of people. Secondly, the ability to produce large amounts of food has been made able by such technologies as biotechnology. Thirdly, it is possible to move towards a green economy even with the increasing population. It only requires great commitment from governments across the world.
The rationale behind spending millions of dollars in family planning for developing countries now than spending billions for relief efforts later lies in the estimation that developing countries may take a long time to develop.
