It is one of the largest Indian groups in Oklahoma and the second largest Native American tribe in the United States of America. This paper aims to analyze and understand more about the Cherokee group, including their language, name, and historical interactions in the United States. Name and Language The group's name is Cherokee, which has a direct ancestral connection to the tribal government in the United States of America that, for a long time, ruled over the South Eastern part of the USA. The Cherokees speak Iroquoian. The tribe also has a linguistic connection with other tribes in the northern region, including the Iroquois in the far north. Historically, the Cherokees have faced various challenges but have managed to preserve their language identity and distinct culture. History of Interaction with the United States Various challenges and triumphs have dictated the history of the Cherokee tribe.
