Family of Origin Paper
Introduction
Family origin strongly affects how a person develops their identity and grows. By studying my family origin, I found that substance abuse problems and mental health challenges, alongside poor communication, affected my life path and connections. This research will study my family's past, including both parents' sides and early system creation, to show how these elements formed my birth family system. This analysis will show the adjustments I made to stop addiction from affecting my family and examine their results.
Parent’s Family of Origin
Dad’s Parents
My father, David, spent his childhood in a household without drug problems. Vern and Randall maintained steady lives throughout their adult years. My father's emotional problems made me change my behavior with him and other people.
Mom’s Parents
On my mother's side, the situation was markedly different. My mother, Barb, was born into a fam...
