This study examines how sound affects perception and experience. Despite being disregarded, sound is essential to everyday living. This study intends to investigate how sound influences individuals, from its capacity to trigger memories and emotions to its part in determining people’s sense of location and spatial awareness. This project will specifically examine the philosophical and cultural elements of sound and its practical uses in areas like music, film, and architecture.
In the first segment, the study will look at Chion's idea of "acousmatic sound," which describes noises that are heard but not visible or directly connected to a source. The study will investigate how this concept differs from people's conventional perception of sound and how it has inspired the creation of fresh musical and acoustic expression styles. The second half will focus on Cobussen's work on sound and spatiality, which stresses how sound affects how individuals see the outside world.
