Globalization can be defined as the process of international integration springing from the exchange of worldviews, ideas, products and other issues of culture. The major factors in globalization generating further interdependence of economic and cultural activities include; advances in transportation and telecommunication infrastructure, rise of the telegraph and its posterity in the internet. Globalization comes with development projects which can be defined as a specific activity or task set to achieve the social, economic and political goals of a development policy. These projects include energy, transportation resettlement schemes agricultural among others. However, the development projects come with some common negative effects;
1 Institutions, government and project managers become reluctant to carry out impact evaluations because they are deemed to be time consuming, expensive, technically complex and the findings become politically sensitive.
2 The evaluations on the development projects have been criticized since the results usually come too late and do not answer the right questions. There is also limited availability and quality data leading to poor development projects.
3 Other projects tend to change the local and national policy. For example a new local authority policy on re-housing homeless people, a new government policy encouraging people with disability to vote in bot...
