The Relationship Between Academic Integrity and Writing

Integrity in academic and professional spheres refers to the ethical principles and norms of conduct that guide an individual's actions. It entails being dependable, respectful of others, and truthful. Even though both follow similar guiding principles, they are applied in various circumstances. Writing and academic integrity are closely related since, to maintain academic integrity, students must be truthful and uphold moral standards. When writing research papers, for instance, it is required that students properly credit ideas from other writers to avoid plagiarism and to demonstrate that they are aware of their contributions.
