Freddy, I agree that Michael is in a difficult situation and would need the services of a counselor. He is afraid that he might disappoint his father after disclosing his career choice of becoming a police officer after studying criminal justice instead of joining the marines and follow his father’s footsteps. While a counselor might decide to let Michael make autonomous decisions, it is worthwhile pursuing other counseling strategies to ensure both Michael and his father do not suffer due to the final decision (Coggon & Miola, 2011). The job search can be a daunting task and Ashley would require a counselor's services. Although Ashley has advanced her studies and obtained a master's degree in Social Work and further volunteered and done community service, she is without a job.
