Different Approach Therapies and the Family and Bowenian Family Systems
I would now like you to spend some time comparing the approaches as follows:
compare Adlerian Therapy and Object Relations Therapy
compare Family Systems and Bowenian Family Systems
compare Experiential Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
compare Structural Family Therapy to any of those listed above
Your written assignment is to compose 3-5 thoughtful paragraphs comparing and contrasting each set of therapeutic models. Be sure to go beyond just a description of what you saw and articulate how the therapist conceptualized the problem and constructed interventions. See if you can align what you observed with what you read in your text and/or heard in the preliminary discussion with the therapist in the video. If you are referring to a specific interaction in the video, it is important to include the name of the video and the time stamp. Your textbook offers helpful explanations of the reasoning behind specific strategies (i.e., Table 7.1, p.163, pgs. 174-180 per 9th edition) which can be included.
