The social change I would like to see in the world entails achieving child and youth safety online. Young individuals are increasingly driving global connectivity, with more than 75 percent of fifteen- twenty-four-year-olds actively online in 2022 (United Nations, n.d.). This implies that children stay online for extended timescales socializing, playing, communicating, and accessing a wide range of information sources. Amid this backdrop, children face a wide range of risks related to internet usage, including cyberbullying and other forms of peer-to-peer violence. Other risks associated with internet usage are exposure to violent content and hate speech, disinformation, and sexual abuse and exploitation, all of which undermine the child’s development and effective transition into adulthood.
