A business agreement is a written or oral statement presented to someone in exchange for promises in business. On the other hand, informed consent is the process of getting permission from a client before conducting healthcare interventions (Gale, 2017). This permission is also sought for the purpose of disclosing personal information. Both the business agreement and informed consent can be presented to the client after calling them to the clinic, discussing matters with them and ensuring that they would get full benefits.
I would like to ask how many phases informed consent has. Another thing that comes to my mind is whether or not the exchange of information between the therapist and the client is needed (Boratto, et al. 2017). I have heard people saying that informed consent should not be verbal, meaning a document must be signed. Plus, I want to know is it important to evaluate the capacity of the client to understand different types of information.
From these steps, I have learned that it is important for a therapist or a counselor to communicate the nature, benefits, and risks of a particular procedure, research or treatment so that the client can decide whether or not they would like to take things further.
