Post 4-1 & 4-2 Name Institutional Affiliation 4-1 Salvad Emotional intelligence refers to understanding oneself, managing our emotions and understanding the emotions of those around us in a way that allows one to collaborate more effectively. Emotional intelligence is linked to the well-being of a person, exercising self-control, attention and sociability. Since there is emotional awareness this influences problem solving and reasoning. Emotional intelligence also influences behavior and how one relates with others. Much of our decisions are influenced by emotions, and people have different emotional intelligence abilities, which affect how they make decisions and arrive at solutions (Alkozei, Schwab & Killgore, 2016). Emotional intelligence affects emotional response, behavior and motivation as motives can activate behavior and when people understand themselves they respond appropriately. Kayla The concept of emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize one's own and others' feelings and managing the feelings is possible when one recognizes the emotions. Applying emotional intelligence in the work place is beneficial and it allows an individual to make informed decisions and even lead others. Acting accordingly when one can manage their emotions helps build social relationships and is rewarding personally and professionally rewarding.
