Followership is critical in supporting servant leaders because it provides strengths to the leader, improves organizational performance, and enhances personal and collective responsibility.
Leaders need support from the people they lead to ensure they perform exceptionally. Followership provides this support, thus strengthening leaders because the followers understand the organizational needs and always strive to satisfy those needs (Blanchard & Broadwell, 2018).
