Speech-Language Therapy
One of the intervention strategies used on the patient was speech-language therapy. According to this intervention, the speech-language therapist helped the patient gain verbal communication skills (Intergrated Listening Systems, 2016). Speech-language therapists use a variety of strategies such as prompts and cues, modeling, graphic organizers, and functional communication assessments to help the patient work on these skills. A common misconception about this intervention is that it is limited to spoken language only, but this does not represent the full scope of what speech-language therapy can do for people with disabilities.
They also used the iLs therapy. According to this therapy, therapists and patients work together to answer the patient's questions and problems, using all of their senses (Routsis, 2022). In this case, the therapy's goal was to rewire the child's brain to facilitate normal functioning.
