Education is the key to attainment of opportunities in STEM. Not only does it provide knowledge on fundamental concepts in these fields, but it builds creative and critical thinking which is vital in these fields. STEM is targeted at creating an equal platform for opportunities for people across all social classes. However, it has been noted with concern that economically disadvantaged families, commonly referred to as people from the low social backgrounds in most cases perform poorly in STEM courses.
