Planning for Generalization of Bus Riding Skills Name Institution Course Instructor Date Planning for Generalization of Bus Riding Skills Introduction In this intervention, we target Jamie, a 15-year-old male with mild intellectual disability, to learn basic bus riding skills and reduce anxiety in crowded public areas. We want to make sure that the skills learned in training are adequately generalized to naturalistic settings (Livingston et al., 2023). Drawn from strategies by Cooper et al. (2020), the intervention targets both stimulus and response generalization. To promote stimulus generalization, the training program incorporates a variety of bus riding contexts. Jamie will practice the skills with different routes, stops, and times of day to expose him to various environmental cues.
