Changing Criterion Design Guidelines
While using a changing design, the intervention s utilized in successful phases. Each phase sets a new criterion for the target behavior. The target behavior changes incrementally to realize new criteria, highlighting control by the intervention (Hall & Fox, 2020). One advantage of this design is that it is suitable for gradual behavior changes and does not need behavior to revert. However, it is less effective if the behavior change is not gradual or if the criteria are not selected correctly.
Withdrawal Design Guidelines
Withdrawal design often starts with a baseline (A), presents an intervention (B), and later eliminates the intervention to examine if the behavior degenerates to baseline levels (Gruffi & Nassis, 2023).
