Personality Portfolio Paper Student's Name Institution Course # and Name Professor's Name Submission Date Personality Portfolio Paper Meaning of the Big 5 Personality Traits The OCEAN model test, which stands for Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, is essentially covered by the Big Five Personality Trait Test. In this context, "openness" refers to the capacity for complex thought. Additionally, those who score well on openness tend to be very intelligent, creative, and adventurous (Potter, 2015; Spielman et al., 2020). Such individuals are always open to new experiences and quick to employ and use new concepts in their personal and professional lives (Funder, 2016). Nonetheless, my openness score on the Big Five personality trait test was twenty-five percent low. My preference for tradition and routine is evident from these ratings. According to Funder (2016), people with a high degree of openness approach new situations and concepts cautiously and prefer to become accustomed to them. My reluctance to embrace novel concepts and my lack of enthusiasm for artistic endeavors impede my ability to generate fresh concepts and make me less receptive to novel experiences in my life. These all represent the darker side of my nature. However, the upside of these results is that they demonstrate my ability to think logically and focus on concepts that can be applied to various jobs. Conscientiousness refers to the tendency to be accountable, organized, hard-working, goal-oriented, and follow norms and rules. I obtained a score of 2% in the trait of conscientiousness. Potter (2015) claims that individuals scoring low on assessments generally exhibit disorganization, unreliability, and negligence traits. This score indicates a propensity for disliking structure and exhibiting a lower level of organization. I typically prefer unplanned thinking and may struggle to finish tasks without external motivation. My lack of conscientiousness is evident in my tendency to act impulsively, which can have adverse consequences for individuals in my vicinity. Additionally,  I obtained a score of only 25% in extraversion, equivalent to my conscientiousness score. According to Funder (2016), extroverts and introverts experience similar arousal levels in quiet and tranquil environments. This attribute demonstrates my general lack of interest in seeking attention from the external world and my minimal regard for societal position and authority. My personality leans more towards introversion rather than extroversion, and I prefer to conserve my energy for meaningful pursuits in my life. One way to describe a person's agreeableness is as cooperative, courteous, kind, and friendly. Individuals with high agreeableness scores are more committed, affectionate, altruistic, and prosocial (Spielman et al., 2020). I am less likely to get along with people, trust others, or be understanding of the needs of those around me, as evidenced by my 49 percent Agreeableness score.
