Simon Sinek’s ideas constitute one of the most thought-provoking and depressing talks that I have listened to recently. After watching the YouTube video several times, it became clear that Sinek got things right and others wrong concerning Millennials. Before exploring Sinek’s fallacies about Millennials, I agree with his arguments about the broader context of this generation. Many technological and societal patterns affect this generation. Digital devices and social, medical devices emerged instantly. In addition, parenting techniques changed. Each of such elements shifts individuals and how they work and live (Sinek, 2016). I would contribute other contextual factors. Millennials entered the labor market during difficult economic times. In addition, leadership and corporate trust continued to deteriorate, and this generation saw this effect on their families via corporate greed and layoffs.
